The Amazon is a ranged warrior that uses javelins or arrows to rain elemental death across the battlefield. The most popular Amazon build, by far, is the Lightning Javelin or Javazon build, and it exemplifies the classes’ raw destructive power. Other popular builds include Ice Bowazon, which freezes enemies in their place allowing you to control the ebb and flow of combat, as well as the Fire Arrow/Freezing Arrow Amazon which combined the above with massive explosions. At low levels the Poison Javelin skill sees a lot of play, allowing new Amazon characters to unleash lethal clouds across the screen – helping to take care of those awful Imp Shamans.

Playstyle
Amazons are ranged fighters armed with spear and bow, which they use to great effect against the monstrous hordes of Sanctuary. The Amazon attacks from a greater range than any other class, allowing her to deal massive damage while taking relatively little. That doesn’t mean Amazons are useless in a melee, however. By specializing in the Javelins and Spear Skills tree Amazons can boost both her melee and ranged attacks with elemental damage.

Class Tips
- Amazons don’t have the teleport skill, so getting items with Faster Run/Walk will help your quality of life immensely.
- Fire damage is good in the first three acts, but becomes less useful going into Act IV so respeccing around then might be a good choice.
- While having points in Energy isn’t ideal for an end-game character, it can be useful while you’re leveling and you can always respec out.
- Amazons aren’t that dependent on gear. Most of your damage comes from skills, so not having the best possible weapons isn’t much of a hinderance.
