Many players will want to get to the endgame content as quickly as possible. This is especially true when a new Season starts, as you are forced to start from scratch to participate in each Season. Luckily, there are a few ways you can make leveling a fresh character easier, and several strategies to use once you’re ready to start leveling all the way to level 100 as quickly as possible.
Note that these steps are for if you unlocked the Skip Campaign option. If this is the very first character you’ve made, you will have to go through the campaign to be able to skip it on future characters.
Tips for Starting
- When making a new character, start them off in World Tier 1 (Adventurer).
- While Tier 2 grants more Experience from kills, the extra length it takes to kill enemies in this Tier make the extra Experience not worth it.
- If creating a Seasonal character, you will want to do the Seasonal quest right away.
- Even though this doesn’t level you quickly, you will still want to do this in order to unlock the Seasonal mechanic.
- If possible, leveling with a party will speed up the process.
- Not only will this make clearing content easier, but you will get an extra 10% Experience while near a party member.
- Once you have unlocked the Alchemist, you can create Elixirs that will give you an extra 5% Experience while it’s in effect.
- Find a leveling Build for your Class, as these are built around clearing enemies quickly to speed up your leveling process.
- Take advantage of the Codex of Power, as this will power you up to clear waves even faster, making for faster leveling.
- Look through the Codex to see where to get the Aspects you need, then clear the dungeons needed to obtain them.
- The Aspects you will want will depend on what Build you decide to use to level.
Levels 1-50 Leveling Strategies
Once your character is ready to go, it’s time to start leveling! The first 50 levels will be different compared to the second 50, as you will not have access to Nightmare Dungeons early on. Note that while there are a few different methods you can use, you do not have to stick to just one.
Legion Events
- If you get to one early enough, you can stay at the campfire before it starts to get up to 15% Experience for the event.
- These events can take less than 10 minutes to complete once it start, and will give a ton of Experience for completing with the boost.
Whispers of the Dead
- This is a great way to not only level quickly, but to get new gear.
- Specifically, you will want to look for Whispers that are in a region that’s having an Arcane Tremor.
- This will cause plenty of enemies to show up while completing your Whisper, giving you plenty of Experience in the process.
Domhainne Tunnels
- While this might be more tedious than the other methods, this is the quickest way to level.
- The first couple of rooms in this dungeon is heavily populated with enemies, allowing you to get a lot of Experience quickly.
- Once the rooms are cleared, leave the dungeon, reset it, then go back in to repeat.
Capstone Dungeons
Once you’re level 50 and later 70, it is recommended to do the Capstone Dungeons to unlock World Tiers 3 and 4, respectively (you can check out our dedicated Capstone Dungeon page here). Once the new Tier is unlocked, you will want to upgrade your gear to the newest quality as soon as possible.
Levels 50-100 Leveling Strategies
Once you reach 50, you can start transitioning over to an endgame Build. The method for leveling at this point is very simple, as at this point you can simply go through Nightmare Dungeons to quickly level. For more information on how to unlock and clear Nightmare Dungeons, you can check out our dedicated page here!
Alt Leveling
If you want to level up multiple characters, there are a few ways they can take advantage of your first character’s progress, making the leveling process even quicker:
- Renown rewards carry over to all new characters in the same game more (normal or Hardcore), so If you have worked on all of your Renown for your main character, you can have up to +5 Potion Capacity, +10 Skill Points, and +20 Paragon Points as soon as your next character is made!
- The bonuses from the Altars of Lilith also carry over to all characters, giving you up to 68 more points in every stat, as well as 4 more Paragon Points right out of the gate.
- You will have access to more resources thanks to your main character, making it much easier to Imprint Aspects, Upgrade Rare equipment, and make Elixirs.
- If you know what Build you’re going to make for your alt, you can have your main character gather the gear for them, meaning you can make your Build effective much faster.
