An easy-to-use build that specializes in single-target damage and gives the Demon Hunter somewhat of a melee option.
Skills
This build will mainly revolve around taking advantage of The Shadow’s Mantle, and using Impale as much as possible to quickly take down enemies. This can be used with either the Chemical Burn Rune to enhance your single-target damage further, or either the Ricochet or Overpenetration Runes to give the build some AoE damage. Shadow Power is another great tool for this build, as it will have every Rune and never expire, giving you a permanent boost to defense and mobility.
Aside from these two Skills, other core Skills of this build are:
- Companion – can either give you an extra boost in offense (with the Wolf Companion) or defense (with the Boar Companion).
- Vault – this will give you some mobility.
- Vengeance – use it to get an extra burst of damage and survivability.
- Fan of Knives – can be used to give extra survivability.
- Marked for Death – can be used to further boost your damage.
Passives
- Cull the Weak – enhances your damage.
- Awareness – gives you a safety net from dying.
- Ambush – gives you a damage boost against enemies at high health.
- Numbing Traps – helps reduce the damage you take.
- Tactical Advantage – can be used to enhance your mobility.
- Blood Vengeance – can be used to increase your maximum Hatred, and gives another source of replenishing it.
Equipment
The primary armor will be The Shadow’s Grasp set. You will need five pieces of it for the full effect (if you Cube the Royal Ring of Grandeur). Karlei’s Point and Holy Point Shot will further enhance Impale. The Aughild’s Authority set and the Endless Walk set will enhance both your offense and defense. The Elusive Ring and Stone Gauntlets will enhance your survivability further.
Bane of the Trapped, Gogok of Swiftness, and Esoteric Alteration are generally the best Legendary Gems. Bane of the Trapped will enhance your damage, while Gogok of Swiftness will give you a boost in Attack Speed, Cooldown Reduction, and Dodge. Esoteric Alteration will give you a boost in damage reduction.
