This is a build used specifically for leveling your Barbarian. It centers around applying a powerful DoT on enemies so they can die while you continue onward.
Leveling builds are a great way to expedite your character to level 70. From there, you can work on setting your Barbarian up with optimal armor and weapons for your preferred build to prepare for the more challenging levels.
Note that you will not be able to use all of these Skills and Passives immediately, so experiment and work with other Skills in the meantime. Leveling builds are very flexible, so don’t shy away from trying out different abilities to help you decide on a final build. (Tip: Remember to enable “Elective Mode” in Settings -> Gameplay to be able to mix-and-match the skills much more easily across the categories.)
Skills
Numbers in brackets = [level required to unlock].
- Rend [4] (Bloodbath Rune [56]) – your main source of damage for this build. This will be used against large groups to make them bleed to death.
- Ground Stomp [4] (Wrenching Smash Rune [18]) – pulls enemies in and Stuns them, allowing you to hit more enemies with Rend.
- Leap [8] (Iron Impact [14]) – grants you mobility and damage reduction.
- Whirlwind [20] (Wind Sheer Rune [44]) – this will act as your Fury generator.
- War Cry [28] (Charge! Rune [35]) – gives you more damage reduction and another form of Fury regeneration.
- Wrath of the Berserker [30] (Insanity Rune [40]) – a powerful buff that will enhance all aspects of the Barbarian.
Passives
Numbers in brackets = [level required to unlock].
- Ruthless [10] – this will allow Rend to finish off enemies easier.
- Nerves of Steel [13] – gives you a safety net if you’re about to die.
- Superstition [30] – grants more damage reduction, and a chance of getting more Fury.
- Rampage [68] – increases both damage and toughness.
